Course Description: The Project Management
Professional Program Boot Camp will enable you to begin or further your career
in project management. This hands-on program provides the 35
PDUs required to qualify to take the Project Management Institute
(PMI) PMP® Certification exam and over 200 hours of exam study
including many practice quizzes and exams. This program
consists of four components. The Mastering the PMBOK®
Fundamentals and Processes component includes various learning
techniques including lecture, acronyms, puzzles and paired exercises
to master the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK)
fundamentals, process groups, knowledge areas, processes, and
process inputs, outputs, tools and techniques. After mastering
the fundaments, the PMP® Certification Preparation component
provides the 35 PDUs while working on individual and team activities
to learn to: plan project work; develop project schedules, cost
estimates, and budgets; plan project quality, staffing, and
communications; analyze project risks; plan project procurement;
execute project work; monitor and control project work; monitor and
control project schedule and costs; monitor and control project
quality, staffing, and communications; monitor and control project
risks and contracts; and close the project. The PMP® Test Taking
Techniques & Practice component reinforces the previous components
and prepares you for the PMP exam. The final component will
prepare you to take the Microsoft Office Project 2007 Managing
Projects Certification exam an excellent complement to the PMP.
Course Length: 25.0 days
Course Objective: You will become proficient in
Project Management and Microsoft Office Project 2007 to apply the
generally recognized practices of project management acknowledged by
the Project Management Institute (PMI®) to successfully manage
projects. .
Target Student: This course is designed for persons
who want to become highly effective project management and take the
certification exams.
Prerequisites: Some experience working on projects
and/or project teams.
Performance-Based Objectives: Upon successful
completion of this course, students will be Proficient in Project
Management and Microsoft Project 2007.
